A lovely way to spend time with my 4 year-old son who absolutely loved the train ride! He also loved looking at the signage and the other engines and carriages at the start point. Weather wasn't great but the covered carriage kept us dry. Lovely views of the beautiful lake. I would definitely recommend a visit!

Had a lovely trip along the steam railway along the lake. Currently 5 an adult and 3 child for return journey. At the main station there is parking, a cafe and some toilets. Worth a visit, particularly if the weather is good!!

A great little train ride through the countryside! Perfect for little (or older) legs that can't handle the full walk there and back. Staff were helpful and friendly and informative about the train. Definitely worth the visit, and worthy of a second visit next time we're in the area! (We'll be back!)

Great little railway that is well worth a trip to visit. Try to pick a nice day as carrages are open. Single or return tickets available so you can enjoy a lakeside walk and ride back or visa versa. Cafe available at peak times at Rudyard depot where you can see engines being prepaired for service.

Very disappointed with the journey, didn't last long at all was expecting a longer ride! Was a santa special, was supposed to get a free Mince pie or biscuits and a sherry or soft drink but didn't! Maybe they were in the grotto but didn't visit as there was only me and my partner with no kids. Also the seats are very small me and my partner had to squeeze in. Didn't realise it was a lot more for kids than for adults who love trains. Sorry but won't be visiting again
