We chose Legacy at Maiden Park because they met all of our needs. My family member has been there for awhile now. Its a wonderful community. When you walk in, there is a sense of peace and you just feel like you're at home. It is bright and cheery and has a lot of character throughout; its very warm and welcoming. My family members room is spacious and she was able to decorate it just the way she wanted it, which was very important to her for it to feel like home. The staff are wonderful! They do everything to meet the families needs, and they are willing to work with you in any way if you need to adjust to anything. They aren't just working there, they are creating and sustaining a genuine home-like atmosphere, and that can be seen in the faces of the residents and the staff. They all go above and beyond in their roles. I couldn't ask for more.

My mom was there from June 2018 to May 2020. Lots of kinks in communication and service caring since over 30 original staff and admin members either resigned or were let go when Legacy changed hands. Social Worker, Sales Rep, Nursing Director, Business Manager, Admin Director, and lots of excellent nurses and aides. My mom was moved from assisted living to the memory care section of Maiden Park in January 2019, around the time the mass exodus happened. Although it was the correct place for her to be, the care there was not as good as in assisted. Part of that was due to the ridiculous changeover of staff for reasons not told to families. Way too much and too fast for the place to keep up and properly train aides, nurses, and admins. The communication problem between aides and nurses as well as to families did not help. I changed my rating at the time from 5 to 3 because of this. I am hoping things have gotten better as there were some good, qualified people there. My mom is now at Wegmans Family Cottages at Park Ridge... had to move her in middle of pandemic in May 2020. She is in a much better qualified place now, where they know and understand Dementia.
The community at Legacy at Maiden Park is part of my life. The love and care our entire staff has with the residents is unmatchable. The health and wellness of everyone who lives here is our #1 priority. Going above and beyond is our culture. I know as a Program Director at Maiden Park, I respond to ALL situations/issues immediately. I pride myself in how I care for residents and their families. Everything from making sure their laundry is washed, to having difficult conversations with families. It's all about the resident. Working together as a team. A team that consists of not only everyone who works here, but of the family members as well. Legacy at Maiden Park. Compassion, Caring, and a homelike environment.
We are looking to possibly move my dad and stepdad. Care is not good. We thought that putting our parent in Assisted Living would help relieve the pressure of us with their care. This place has caused us to deal more with their care than when they were living in their apartments. Our family is very overwhelmed! Big lack of communication. Not only between Legacy and family but also between staff members. Most of the Aids have bad attitudes. We even had to state that one of them are forbidden to come into their rooms. Nurses asking aids about medicines and how to dispense them. Nurse does not return calls. More pressure is put on the familys. The food! Good Lord! Always overdone. Always says they run out of stuff. I have had it. I have tried to talk to them and they keep saying please have patience. We are working out the bugs. But in the meantime our parents are suffering for it. Now the family has to take care of machines, set up and care. This is just now way too much. Every week it is sometime new. Other residents are moving out. I know of at least 4. Look elsewhere. (Laurie you do not call family back.)
