*VERY IMPORTANT TIP* If you are trying to learn how to program JUST to get a job. You are going to struggle and hate it. If you have genuine interest in learning to program (it doesn’t need to be that much) then you’ll find it useful. I can say that it helped me because I needed a boost to get me going and it did that, it taught me to learn how to program, and have confidence in the jobs I was applying for which is important. Job placement, in my honest opinion, there was close to no help at all. Every interview and rejection letter and ultimately job offer was because I applied to HUNDREDS of jobs. We submitted our resumes over to them after getting a template during the course. And so far I have no idea what they do with them, we never got feedback or anything. So, take my advice and go to learn how to program because you need to keep learning afterwards. And don’t put any of your trust on their job finding assistance. I can say I enjoyed it because I already had low expectations on the job finding assistance. Just let them teach you how to make a spear and then go out and hunt on your own. Good Luck

Bottega offers incredible curriculum through DevCamp. The lessons are very well planned out and are great for anyone with or without experience in programming. However as well intended as they might be, Bottega's lessons are all simply on videos and most of the day is spent watching videos.

Bottega is a scam. They had me sign up for their course saying if I didn't go past the precourse I could cancel at any time. They have since pushed through the application, blocked my access to the courses in general and blocked my ability to review and warn others. Don't trust these people, had things been handled differently I may have done the course but I learned my lesson and now I can never pursue Software Development or they threaten to charge me for a course O never took. Bottega is a SCAM. Read the negative reviews not the paid for positive ones. They pressure you even during the initial consultation to give a good review for a discount.

I attended Bottega in January 2020. Classmates were fine, teacher was fine, but we never really got into helpful code practices. You just watch pre-recorded videos of Jordan Hudgens talk about coding. If you are good at video learning, save yourself 12,000 and learn via youtube or codeacademy for free. If I could do it all over, I would enroll in DevMountain or Lamda and feel confident that I could get a good tech job after graduating. I keep in touch with several of my classmates, and they also did not get tech jobs after graduating, but now have 12,000 debt to pay off. The Bottega education quality is average, and it might be my own fault for setting the expectation too high, but one thing that is just malicious is I referred my brother to take the class with me because they have 500 referral bonus (paid after the course is completed), and we both wanted to learn to code for our business. After graduation, I asked the status of that referral bonus and they said they will send us a check shortly. We have followed up with them every month since graduating (March 2020) and now they are just not responding to our emails or calls. Anthony Knolls (Director of Operations) just gives us the run around that they need more proof that the referral was approved by Fili Ledezma (president). We're approaching 9 months and still no referral bonus, no responses from Bottega, and no hope that they will follow through with their promises. Don't offer referral bonus's if you have no intention of keeping your word.

I looked at several code bootcamps before I chose Bottega. I was interested in learning ReactJS and that was a major portion of the curriculum. Bottega was challenging and difficult. The curriculum is such that you code along on big projects that help you see what is possible and do smaller code challenges that stretch your abilities. My instructor was knowledgeable and always had the answers to the questions we came up with. It's not the easy route, but it is a challenging route.

One star review because I was pressured into the school just to do the precourse and charged when I was told I could quit if I didn't finish the precourse. Currently doing the school now and will update as I go along if it gets better.

I came to this code school having experience in python development, and I watched many students around me struggle to pick up the programming mindset, but each of those who kept pressing forward, even some extremely anxiously ultimately had a moment in this course where these concepts clicked and the instructors here did a fantastic job of guiding us to that moment, the technical skills taught here were fantastic, I feel like I can build anything now! The real benefit of Bottega however, was how well the different instructors were willing to teach soft skills, the course spends just the right amount of time, teaching us how to live in the software environment, and in how we can interact with fellow developers the best we can. And the job placement team here is great, super accommodating and helpful. and the benefit of lifetime access to the constantly updating curriculum of our course was just one more layer of icing on the cake.

Where to begin? Their 87% job placement “promise” is a straight up lie. A lot of students are out of work and no one is helping. Way too much disconnection between mentors and job placement team... honestly you can find just as good quality of material on Udemy. I just felt like I’ve been lied to and hope no one else makes the same mistake! If you are in the first challenge or thinking about it, make sure you get a full disclosure before signing anything.
