Recently completed a project for which Davies Design Build was hired. The work which was completed was satisfactory - the management of the project was a disaster. From the onset, communication from the commercial construction project manager was marginal at best - issues relating to communication between Davies and the hired subcontractors (most especially the architect that was hired at the direction of Davies) were ever present throughout the building phase resulting in numerous incorrect aspects of the project resulting in delays. It became extremely difficult to engage the project manager to request correction or completion of items in question - when confronted with persistent concerns, legal action was threatened in addition to verbal abuse and accusations of dishonesty - complete unwillingness to accept responsibility for incorrect or incomplete work while blaming the hiring party, and any subcontractors that were involved with the issues in question - meanwhile insisting on payment for work which was incomplete or unsatisfactory. Incompetence with regard to management and communication. Unprofessional on most, if not all, levels of interaction with our group. Google won't let me leave less than one star - one star is generous. I wouldn't hire Davies to build a doghouse.

My name is Jarum Stone, and I am an Advisory Board member with The Salvation Army [TSA] of Utah. The Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Our message is based on the Bible, our ministry is motivated by the love of God, and our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ as we meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Every program we offer is rooted in our passion to serve God by serving the lost, the vulnerable, the needy, the poor, the hurting, the helpless, and the hopeless. The building used for our Salt Lake City location has been around for a long time and may parts of the building are in need of repair. Most pressing was the wheelchair ramp to enter the front doors. It was made of wood, had been painted and repaired multiple times over the years, but was at a point of becoming a safety concerns for the staff and visitors, not to mention, not being built to code. TSA was in need of a permanent repair. As a charitable organization, TSA tries to avoid excess spending, in order to have the most impact on the community with the funds they raise. Initial estimates came back and would potentially cost TSA thousands to build a permanent ramp that would meet code. Thankfully, TSA was introduced to Ed Axley, with Davis Design Build, who heard the plea for help and stepped in. Not only did they build a beautiful ramp that will last for decades, but they also donated all their time and materials so TSA could put their funds towards the community: Feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, and supporting many others in need.
