I'm a new patient, and I've only been once for myself, and another time for my son. We both had Dr. Stapley. He was extremely kind, and gentle with my son who has autism. He was verbal, and detailed with his procedure so we were never wondering what he was doing. Honestly, i am excited to work with him, and his staff. The dental assistants are so caring, and fun to talk to. They work hard and it shows. Also. Can we talk about price?!?! Holy cow! They're affordable! Kind, understanding, non-judgmental, gentle, and goes through step by step process of their work!?! What more could you need? I will update/edit my review when we work on a procedure that is more than a cleaning.

Being a new patient the experience was amazing! Front office was super helpful, I felt like the exam and the level of diagnosing what I needed done was clear and backed up with technology. Dr Matthews and dr Stapley are the nicest guys. I forgot to mention the office is amazing and fresh. Go here! Even during my root canal they whitened my teeth! What ever you need they will take care of you.
I called Traverse Mountain Family Dental last week to schedule an appointment (being new to the area, I didn't know which dentists are good). I saw the reviews online and decided to give it a shot! I am so glad that I did! I was impressed with their ability to get me an appointment quickly (within 4 business days of when I called). When I arrived for my appointment, they were quick to bring me back and start my cleaning. Their staff was very upbeat, courteous, and friendly. After my cleaning, I had to wait a little while for the dentist to come in to examine my teeth. It seemed like every 5 minutes the assistant would come back with updates on why the dentist hadn't come yet. I, for one, appreciate this kind of approach as opposed to just sitting there waiting for a while, not knowing how long I would be waiting. Plus, he really didn't take too long (maybe 10 - 15 min). So, I was able to return to work within an hour of my appointment time (and that includes time to take x-rays of my teeth). When the dentist came to talk with me, we discussed a few items that I had questions about. The dentist was professional and took the time to answer each question that I had. It was a nice little bonus to find out that if you don't have any cavities, they give you a coupon for a free meal from J.Dawgs. I have never heard of it, but apparently it's a really good hotdog place. I guess I'll have to check it out now! Overall, great experience! I will definitely be back!

I had the best experience here! I’m new to the area, and decided to give this place a try based off their great reviews. After having a crown done there today, I’m adding my own 5 star review. The dentists, dental hygienists, and front desk staff are SO NICE! They all treated me so well and not like I was just another patient they were trying to get in and out the door. They were accommodating with my childcare needs and really went above and beyond to make things work for me. I appreciate them making me feel comfortable during my procedure and walking me through what was happening. They did a great job and I’ve already recommended them to my family members!
From the receptionist to the hygienist to the dentist, everyone was welcoming. They were timely and friendly. I appreciated their genuine concern for my care and their expertise.
The dentist was kind. The assistants could use some professional behavior training. One of the assistants was right outside my room and in full voice said "Did you notice that we got all of our WORST patients today? How do all the worst patients manage to schedule on the same day?" The other assistant agreed. It was hurtful. I felt like a burden to them and will probably find another dentist office. Update: The office manager called me and said she found out what happened, spoke to the visiting (not Traverse Dental) assistants, and will make sure it never happens again.
Absolutely love this office and the staff! I have had the opportunity to visit twice this month (for my family's cleaning day and again today to have some drill and fills done). Dr. Matthews is an amazing dentist and has amazing chair-side manner. I would recommend Traverse Mountain Family Dental (and specifically Dr. Matthews) to absolutely anyone and everyone! Side note: When we saw him for our family cleanings, Dr. Matthews was so amazing with our high-anxiety 8 year-old that she came home asking when she gets to go back again
