Lived with evans for 2 years and I would recommend : ) My studio is 1 minute from dmu and 5 min from town (for when shops open again!) My rent is all inclusive which helps as my 1st halls were extra charges for power and washing machine. 2 friends have moved to evans on seeing my room. I do not have many maintenance problem but one kitchen door did come loose but fixed a day or so after I reported.

DO NOT LIVE HERE Long story short, this place is full of old women trying to scam 20 year olds. Certain members of staff at reception are very rude and complaints are not dealt with until numerous complaints are made and even the majority are still ignored, even by the general manager herself! Definitely a lot better accommodations around Leicester. They have construction work going on which started around exam time everyday beginning at 6am. This resulted in water leaks through the ceiling every time it rained causing fire alarms to constantly go off at ridiculous times. When I complained to management a member of staff replied to me saying and I quote "Well we have to live with it, so can you" - I was left astounded. I was not made aware of any construction work prior to signing the contract. Stayed at 3 different university accommodations on campus throughout my time at university and this has got to be the worse by far. Wouldn't recommend living here under any circumstances. They also wouldn't release my deposit back to me and will not provide me with any proof for why my deposit is being held against me. They also do not respond to emails or calls unless they're demanding money. It's apperently their word against their tenants. (Some of the reviews on this page seem 'fake' & 'unjustified', majority of the reviews have been made-up by members of the company) Also a DMU Graduate.
Honestly I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation to anybody. Definitely not worth the rent money. There are constant heating issues. First it was unbearably hot and because of the under floor heating, there would be so many bugs and big spiders every single day on floors and walls (kitchen and bedroom), no matter how much we cleaned and my flatmate and I were cleaning every day. Maintenance would close the heating to reduce bugs and it’d be so cold. Sometimes I couldn’t even sleep because the room was freezing cold and then I thought I was going to be ill. The kitchen wasn’t even equipped with basic essential kitchen items, there was no microwave, kettle, toaster and bin! And when asked why, they can’t even give proper responses. The internet also was unstable, it kept disconnecting on my laptop and so there were multiple periods of inconsistent on/off wifi. Going to reception was just an uncomfortable experience, the staff there always had an attitude. Speaking to them on the phone, they’d quickly try to make you stop talking, purposely interrupting your sentences like saying okay byeee midway. Reception doesn’t even accept parcels and often don’t respond to emails. Other small things to mention are the automatic bathroom lights randomly closing (the bathroom is just dodgy in many ways) and security having no access to the CCTV cameras (they couldn’t even check accom CCTV when we had a possible security issue). The only positive is that the room is average sized with a big bed and windows opening quite widely. Location is close to town. However, there are so many better accommodations to stay in. I cannot think of any other positives and to be honest, feel quite sorry for anybody moving here.
God awful place. Full of miserable students paying extortionate fee's for rooms they don't need. Because of covid closing the uni and the government ignoring the fact they are paying 18000 for open university degrees they are doing from home whilst bailing out business. Look to the future you Muppets these are the kids who are going to be making your money and vote in the future. It's a connected world with populations of educated people the will not forget you shafted them.....
Evans is an amazing student accommodation and I would highly recommend it to other students. The maintenance is really good and all the staff especially in the finance and reception department are extremely reliable, helpful and very Kind.
My experience after moving in is highly positive. Very clean spacious rooms and helpful staff. I was hesitant to book being at Leicester Uni but it only takes about 10 minutes to get to lectures and it's super handy being so close to the city centre.
Noisy and lacks a stable wifi connection
Area is decent, living accommodation isn't soo great as the walls are soo weak... I guess it's just ideal for less standard home accommodation sadly, but with all greatness it gets the job done for your studies
