Hi Just bought a new Luggie following an excellent demonstration from Keith their representative. I purchased my new machine from an acquaintance whose husband had unfortunately died a year ago and never got to use this wonderful machine. My Luggie doesn't have the latest variable speed dial so I just taped some hard sponge to the handlebar to restrict the trigger to about 3mph this allows my wife to walk alongside and is perfect for walking our Golden Retriever Archie and also extends the battery life. Top speed is a lively 6mph, ( more than claimed.)..and hill climbing ability is astonishing even at half speed. Here on the West Sussex coast we have some severe gradients but the Luggie coped with three one in four gradients in succession without a hint of effort! The battery indicator soon moves to about half way into the dark green zone but don't be alarmed; mine didn't fall any further even after 8 miles. It will cope with light terrain with no problem, one just needs to look ahead and plan accordingly; bearing in mind it's narrow dimensions, approach hazards square on. So to sum up: a beautiful, compact, unique, design, well made with excellent performance. You get what you pay for but I think the price is a little high and would appeal to a wider public if it was pitched a little lower or perhaps including an accessory or two might make it more attractive. Nevertheless I wouldn't have purchased anything else as the Luggie is the only machine on the market which meets my criteria. It will even fit into the passenger seat of my Mazda MX5 sports car - well it seemed a good idea at the time! The astonishing Luggie has made a huge difference to my quality of life and we look forward to some great adventures together. Michael

My wife and I have just returned from a hastily arranged trip to Melbourne, Australia. In the course of arranging the trip we realised that transportable buggies we regularly used would be problematic at the airports and in Australia due to their size and inflexability. Fortunately we were able to purchase 2 little used Luggies for the trip, arriving just 4 days before our trip. It was immediately obvious that the Luggies were going to be so much better despite our disabilities which have caused problems in the past with buggies. The 4 week trip was so much more pleasurable due to the ease in using them and that we could get 2 into the saloon car boot without having to consider the expense of hiring an estate car. We were constantly being stopped by passers-by inquiring about them! Problems? Yes we had a few but few due to the use of the Luggies. Firstly, the airline did not know about the Luggie and I was still talking to them about the Luggies on the morning of the flight! In the end the British airport dealt with them with ease but were very concerned about the batteries being in the hold, eventually we placed them in the seat bags because the on/off switch was too easy to catch (design fault?). We did have problems with the seat mechanism on one of the Luggies which needed stripping and lubricating to ease. We had too many problems on the flight home, again due to the airlines lack of knowledge of the Luggie and their own system. When we eventually got them back in the British airport we found one of the chassis clips was broken (half of it missing!) and the terminals in the battery carrier were bent requiring realigning. A few minutes repair and we were on our way awaiting contact from the airport. I hope we were just unlucky but it shows that, despite their disability statements, the airline industry still has a long way to go. We gladly recommend the Luggie as a mode of transport, easy to use and to carry in a car, using far less space.
