Beautiful flowers (if you pick correct month to visit). Interesting topiary clock and other shapes. Good for a short visit and picnic. Modest walks. Has small snack and ice cream shop. Being close we visit once or twice a year.

This is one of the smaller national trust sites I've visited. It is well kept and the gardens are beautiful. There are good facilities to get drinks and snacks and picnic benches as well as an area for picnic blankets. The staff were well organised, friendly and helpful. The limited bookings helped reduce the number of visitors, so although there were plenty of other people around it wasn't overwhelmingly busy partly helpful with still maintaining a good distance.

I love Ascott. One is greeted with a host of daffodils, horses, sheep and beautiful parterre and fountains. We spent 4 happy hours there and could have spent the whole day.

First time, absolutely beautiful only there for couple of hours as original booking didn't go through so lost our original mid day slot and had to go in on 4pm booking that was only one left... Definitely visit again soon...

We visited Ascott for the first time on 23rd April and had a wonderful day! The weather was perfect but what a beautiful place! We'll be going again very soon. I cant wait!

We visited on a lovely day to see the gardens. Despite it being late in the year, the gardens were fabulous. What makes them wonderful are the different fountains and pools scattered through the different gardens. The Eros fountain, Venus fountain are the more traditional country house fountains. The stone circle made of jagged slate rock is unusual, and makes a wonderful foreground to photographs. The Madeira walk was still beautiful in mid September. We even spotted a Hummingbird Hawk-moth I love the open ground, with plenty of space to picnic, and the secluded sheltered areas. To me the best garden is the Lynn Garden with its earth mounds, raised circular maze (not open), and the slowly circulating black mirror pond. More traditional is the nearby Lily pond with a quite walk around the edge. Yes I would give the garden 6 out of 5 on a nice warm sunny afternoon.

Lovely place had a fab day out with a friend and her children. The children had a lovely time running around and rolling down hills. Was so calm and peaceful and we were even lucky enough to have some sunshine
