Live next to this field for 28 years use to a lovely little place to walk your dog's play football ect until they erected the huge housing estate behind it now you feel like your walking in a big back garden and lately there there a huge compost dump at the very sotto which us a health hazard to children and dogs and an eye sore the grass never gets regular cuts there always grass clipping laying about
This is also know as the Vynes and is not to be confused with Pages Park. A great council playing field, perfect for football training. Used to be marked out for football pitches but that has stopped due to astral Park. I believe they will soon need to be football pitches once more due to the number of young people coming to the town. Only down side is the fact it is a public field and there is always dogs mess about despite the dog bins! So a pitch inspection is essential prior to training. I do believe it has special status as builders were going to build houses on it and the pitches moved to opposite Vandyke school, but that was stopped as special status was obtained!
Lovely park and well kept. Shame about the hedge over grown on the road side to get to main gate..
