Great place for a chilled getaway... Loved the room being away from the main building... Lovely setting in a quaint village.. Staff couldn't do enough and were extremely friendly.. Which is lovely when you are travelling alone... Loved the outdoor area with the twinkling lights.. The cosy areas in the pub and the dining room with views of the village.. Best breakfast I've had in a hotel in a long time! Definitely would visit again.. Never been to this part of England and I was pleasantly surprised....

We stayed here for two nights. The food was great and the staff were friendly and attentive. We ate lunch on the first day and dinner both evenings. The menu was small but well thought out. The quality of the food was top notch and the wine list had lots of options. Breakfast was buffet style and there was plenty of it, including cereal and fruit. The bedrooms are advertised as compact and that is a fair description, with a standard sized double bed. There was a small television and tea and coffee facilities available too. The bed was a little uncomfortable and the room was a little cold - although we managed to sort that out once we worked out how to use the heater and were then nice and toasty. There was an open mic night while we were there and one of the staff found us a couple of seats in the conservatory to watch. People were playing three songs each and were of a really good standard. A girl called Shannon stole the evening though, she was so very good and gave us goosebumps! Great stuff! Overall, this was a great place to spend a couple of nights and we would recommend it to anyone that asked. We would stay again if ever over in that area. 5/5

Went out for late Sunday lunch to blow away the Covid cabin fever. Staff as always really friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Its a really lovely place to sit and spend a relaxing lunch, dinner or whenever. The pub looks to have had a refresh inside since we were last there and has been really tastfully done. Still has the central fireplace with woodburning stove, the bar looks great with some vintage tables and chairs and two cosy leather chairs by the fireplace. We had the Sunday roasts.... beef, lamb and chicken all were very good. Sat at the long table by the window looking over the village green lots of space between tables and quite airy so so felt relaxed. Planning to go back next week for my birthday if Lockdown permits and invite a couple of friends. Would recommend to shake off those Covid blues.
