To start with the positive: great view from the top! The negative: Way too many people are allowed in the cable car at the same time. The cabin was completely full, we were packed like sardines, which I find very strange in Corona times.
If you travel using public transportation, you will have to reach Leuk first and from there catch bus 471. In about 30 minutes you will reach Leukerbad's bus station. From there you can either walk (15 mins) or catch a bus that will leave you very close to the aerial tram. In less than 10 minutes you will have reached the summit. On a clear day you will be able to see the highest mounains from Switzerland! There is also a lake and plenty of options for hikers. A wonderful experience!
The view from above on Luekerbad and Alpes is breathtaking
Good family place!
Amazing view from the top. Price OK
Would have given 5 stars, the largest cable car was terrific and the scenery is amazing. The reason for two stars is the shorter cable car up the mountain. It was operating so we decided to walk down the hill (with 3yo and 6 yo) only to realise the car stopped running - no sign, the attendant below had vanished. We waited 20 minutes assuming they had a 'long' lunch and at 14h25 we raced back up the hill to ensure we didn't miss our bus home.
Good to visit
