It's an art gallery, if you like that, a beautiful country house set within The South Downs National Park, also the focus of a community which lives and works on the Firle Estate. Opening times are July to September and the events really are worthwhile visiting, the whole family can join in. This remains to be the much loved home of the present Lord Gage, the 8th Viscount, and his family. Not forgetting, you can chart its history, there are Connoisseur Days, Group visits, a Tea Room where one can relax on the terrace. Also, Weddings, Private Functions & Hiring, Shooting and much more. Firle Place is situated near Lewes, between Brighton & Eastbourne in East Sussex, the south coast of the UK. Firle Village is 11 miles from Brighton, 4 miles from Lewes. Glynde railway station nearly two miles away. I feel sure if you browse the website, more excitement for future visits will aid you to tailor your tours to suit specific requirements or interests. Have fun.

International sleddog championship and Christmas fair. Despite all the rain and mud it was an amazing event set in beautiful grounds. Really well organized and so many fantastic stalls and things to do. Bailey's coffee, mulled wine and cider all a delicious must, and you'll find it hard to decide what to eat with so many scrumptious treats to choose from. The racing itself was incredible and something you'll remember forever. And as for things for the little ones to enjoy, well santa riding through by dog sled and lots of beautiful huskies to to stroke and get pictures with will surely be enjoyed by any little person. Just a wonderful day

I think Firle place is such a magical place. It's a hidden gem in the Sussex countryside. I've attended a couple of events there and I especially like the vintage fair which was absolutely amazing

spent a couple of hours doing the guided tour in the house, this was well worth the money. Very informative guide and plenty of beautiful ornaments and furniture to admire, including a couple of Chippendales. Firle House itself isn't huge but the landscape surrounding the house is beautiful. I'm not saying the house isn't beautiful, I'm just saying that the landscape it's set in is stunning. I've been to the vintage fair 3 times, last year's one was so popular I doubt if i'll go again. It was far to busy queues were horrific and getting into the area was equally lengthy. The fair is excellent but unless the entrance and exit strategy can be improved I won't be going again. Would go to any of the other smaller events there as it is such a great venue. Would love to see antiques roadshow there.

Was dog friendly ....visited last weekend. Went to get, what in my opinion, is the best cream tea anywhere I've ever been. Partner got barked at by an older lady playing with the shelving "your not allowed dog's". Last year we were. Could do with staff training for this number. Disappointing fare compared to last year too. More like going to a market. And 15 to get in. Despite the website advertising it was 10. An expensive day at the market. Scones were still good. Staff serving tea were lovely.

Went to World Championship sled dog dryland racing. Firle place looks nice but boy was it a mudbath. Can't be helped. Park is lovely and the racing was great. Huskies and Dobermans rule!
