This business sold us an antique table for a VERY large sum of money, which turned out to be riddled with WOODWORM.They assured us they had treated it when in fact it was INFESTED. Sadly we only realised this a few months down the line once there were beetles flying out of it and around our kitchen. This is a huge threat to any house and could cause thousands and thousands of pounds worth of damage to the structure of the house. We ended up spending a load of money trying to treat it unsuccessfully. I called them to let them know and ask for some money back or at least get them to just remove it from our house, but they were extremely unsympathetic, rude, and offered no help or compensation whatsoever. What a huge waste of money and stress for us. We had to chuck it out in the end. I would not trust buying anything from them and my opinion of them is that they are not honest people.
I love the place and I’ve bought a number of wonderful items over the years. Most recently I picked up a lovely pair of French earns, jars and linen. Unquestionably a Lewes gem
A poor and overpriced selection of items that are not actually antiques at all, an overwhelming amount of items that are aimed for suburban hipsters who think they are buying genuine items. Try the many others down the street for a real antique shopping experience..
Lady who works in there is extremely rude and not helpful at all. Avoid at all costs !!
