Weekday lunch, super quiet, it was just us and another older gentleman there, the bar lady was outside smoking and didn't realised we walked in, we had to find her to order lunch. Freshly made pizza and flat bread. One pizza enough to share for two maybe three.

Went for lunch but didn’t stay for food as was put off by being charged 11 for two shandies, having been poured two “premium lager” budvar shandies (without being offered an option for another type). When I questioned why am I being charged for a pint of premium beer when half of it is lemonade - I was told ‘that’s the trade’. Also, no taps or anywhere to wash hands in the toilets-not great before eating a pizza (the only good option) with your hands during a pandemic.
The place itself has a lot of potential, the staff is really friendly but was quite shocked about how rude the owner is. Almost left because of how he behaved. The place is definitely missing some TLC...
Cozy, quirky interesting pub with good atmosphere. They have the lighting just right unlike so many places. .. Decor like a traditional barge. Little garden area, parking in the street outside. Simple pizza / pasta menu. Live music some nights ( jazz on Mondays). Can be busy as it's very popular.
Lovely service, came here with my family. Epic pizza's, love a sour dough base. Would say the tomato sauce could do with a little more ooooomph!! Overall though really great and will be back.
A lovely pub on a sunny day. popped.in the with dog and had a ploughmans all to myself (it was meant to be a starter to share but I didn't fancy a roast). was busy but staff were friendly and served me as quick as they could. loved the old decor amd ambience.
When I was living in brighton I would take regular trips to lewes just to visit this pub. Great beer selection (cask and keg) and really nice cosy/traditional but also quirky interior. Beautiful location as well with great view of cliffs/downs from beer garden. Also great food. Don't forget to play a round of toad in the hole upstairs!
Lovely small pub with beautiful surroundjngs. Well deserved 5 stars
