Gym was good until I wanted to cancel my membership. Has anyone else had poor communication and issues when cancelling their membership? I've been waiting since July 25th. I keep chasing them up. I just wish they kept me informed with their process and the refund. They were very keen for me to join, always chasing up and calling but no support when you really need it.

Me and my boyfriend signed up for a month membership and were told to sign up online as we did while standing in front of them. We asked if we could cancel it or if it would cancel automatically and Ahmet told us that we had to cancel before end of the month. Now we are here 4 days before the end of our monthly membership and are told by Klaudia that we had to cancel 2 weeks in advance and that we could have cancelled it right when we signed up. No one informed us properly at that time and we really feel manipulation.

The place is unhygienic and with a real feel of gangland intimidation in certain areas. I left just as Covid hit and thank god I did!! People exfoliate and even shave in the steam room meaning others will unknowingly be sitting in others people dead skin etc. I also felt during my time a real feel of unease in the free weights section, with groups hanging around chucking menacing looks if your face didn't fit. All in all a terrible experience and I will never join Fitness First again.

A bit old and below average compared to the other fitness first in Central London. There is no pool as well. But in Leyton it seems like its the best option compared to the other gyms.
