Was considering renewing my membership here at least for a 3 month period. Have had no issues at all until I had a minor one and managerial staff were completely unable to deal effectively in a professional and unbiased manner. Casual misogyny is seemingly acceptable here.

I used The Belfry for years, and was going to join again as it’s closer, I’m glad I never, David Lloyd’s is far superior to The Belfry, the staff are so well mannered, and friendly..I train 5 days a week, and then have a swim, it puts me in a great positive mood always, best gym in the Midlands for me..5 stars..

* Avoid David Lloyd * - I've been a unhappy member for the last 12 months, I am moving abroad was told by a staff member that my membership expired in December, was told to cancelled then I called and was told to contact them in December which I did then I was told to email which I did had no response I had to follow up then I received a email saying I had to give three months notice so went into the branch and was told that I should read the terms and conditions I should've cancelled by the fourth not one team member told me that otherwise I would've Done that I am moving but this wasn't enough I am moving back to the USA , the team member wanted to see a plane ticket???? who do these people think they are ??? I would suggest anybody thinking about joining David Lloyd not to rather than being personable and understanding I was just told to read my terms and conditions After reading other peoples feedback on Google clearly this is a trend by David Lloyd to get more money out of people I think the manager needs to focus he's training to get that some customer experience that listening to customers and explaining the reasons why and also covering their terms and conditions with their staff so they are able to give the right advice at the right time to avoid these issues Again if you're thinking about A healthier lifestyle I would start by picking another company that won't make your finances unhealthier

Refusing to operate in accordance with their own terms and conditions when giving notice to terminate membership on medical grounds. I provided an MRI scan confirming shoulder bursitis and other conditions that prevent use of the gym and heavy equipment, yet the "membership supervisor" refuses to acknowledge their own terms and conditions for termination on medical grounds. So, should it assist anyone else, I will quote as follows: at 15.1(b) David Lloyd terms state: "Your membership will end on the last day of the month in which we receive your notice or your suitable evidence" I gave sufficient notice and evidence and yet they are still trying to squeeze extra fees out of me before letting me go. What's the point? It leaves a bitter taste and only serves to encourage me to tell everyone I meet how utterly unreasonable they are - hence this review. Not to mention the bathroom hygiene leaves an awful lot to be desired for upwards of 120 / month.

Nice big gym with new equipment and a range of fitness class that run throughout the day. There's an inside and outdoor swimming pool, friendly staff and a creche for the little ones. I like the soft play area, I think it's a great idea for children to play whilst the adults have a coffee and food.

Very poor was a member 20 years but as the prices went up the standard of service was appalling . the gym staff only interested if you paid extra for PT. The whole club was always like a sauna made it impossible to train.
