Accessing the under developed hydrocarbons in the East Irish Sea Basin with a new technical solution Lir Resources has been formed to take advantage of the major conventional, tight and shale gas potential within the East Irish Sea (EIS) basin. Our core team of oil and gas professionals has over 150 years’ cumulative experience in the sub-surface assessment, facilities design and operation of offshore field developments. This combined experience has been used to develop technologies which replicate the onshore drilling process on an offshore platform to deliver offshore wells at a similar cost to onshore wells. This new technology makes the recovery of offshore conventional, tight and unconventional hydrocarbons economically attractive. The implementation of this technology on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) offers Lir Resources several business opportunities based on accessing large natural gas resources with sufficient reserves to meet the UK’s annual gas demand for 50 years or more.
