This place does great things for the community. Its been 3 years since my last post.I live behind this place and have watched this place first hand do amazing things for this community...So this update goes to the people who bring there donations and just drop them off out in the open on the curb left out in the rain ,exposed to all kinds of elements. THEY HAVE A DROP OFF LOCATION!. .Your not helping they can't use the damaged goods you leave out in the open like that. There more than just a thrift shop or dump station. Now this place that depends on donations to run there food bank and clothe the needed have to waste resources to now dispose of your now pile of trash.WAY TO GO!

This place does have nice people and the food pantry is awesome as well. I’m hoping the financial help is available during these rough times but they offer other services which can be useful.

I received an email from the county about the food program, and being laid off recently I decided to check out their offerings. I went there for the first and only time on 4/20/2020. The gentleman who took my information was pleasant and the gentleman who brought food to my car was nice and helpful. When I got home I was shocked to find out ALL of the fresh/fridgerated/frozen food was past date, most expired earlier in April, but the oldest was Sep-18-19. The bagels had mold spots, and the tub of salad greens had rotting leaves and was leaking brown liquid. The seal on the small tub of mango salsa was compromised so that was leaking. Etc etc etc.... The \Artichoke Spinach\ quiche said sell by 4/12/20 but it smelled and looked okay so I ate it even though my daughter begged me not to risk it. However, it was evidently a ham quiche (no artichokes nor spinach to be found in it). What if I didn't eat pork? Most of the pantry items were not expired since they usually stamp cans like five years out, yet there was still at least one expired can of soup and a box of Zatarains Black Beans & Rice said sell by Dec 26 16! There were dented cans and cans with rust on them, etc. Perhaps the other services at the co-op are run better, maybe. I can definitely say the food service is lacking quality control. I will use some of the pantry items, so I am appreciative, but I will not be back, and I was just really surprised that this is allowed.

I’m highly disappointed with the help at this co op ministry. I went in today to get help with food stamps amongst other things. I’m 8 months pregnant and kind of new to this, just trying to get all the help I can receive as a unemployed mother at the moment. The lady saw us waiting there for an hr for food stamps and said nothing, we then were approached by another volunteer who was very helpful and trying to get us the information we needed. She took us to the sign in desk and proceeded with her job as the lady behind the counter was responsible for signs in. I have never in my life felt so disrespected from another person especially a volunteer who is suppose to help. I didn’t get a name but the lady was older white with short salt and pepper hair and glasses. I was answering her questions she was asking but she wasn’t being very direct with her questions and was being snappy and rude about how I answered them. Then my friend who was with me repeated my statement I had already told this lady because she wasn’t listening to me at all and proceeds to tell my friend who is trying to help me that she doesn’t need to answer for me I can speak for myself. At this point I’m very upset with the way she handled our situation. It was very unprofessional and made me feel like I wasn’t worth the help, when she saw I was getting upset then she tried actually helping me and I turned it down and told her to have a nice day. I will never recommend this place for help. Truly sad who is volunteering in this co op.

I visited today and it was an awesome experience! They answered all my questions, helped me out financially and referred me to other agencies for additional help...Thank you to each and every one of you! I will definitely let others know about this place!
