I love a location that maintains local history and delivers good food with good service. The pressed tin roof over the full service bar is cool. Their wood burning pizza oven delivered really good pizza. My pesto sausage, ham, pepperoni, mushroom, avocado pizza was really good and flavorable. (Avocado was added after roasting). I cannot wait to try the Caribbean jerk pizza sauce with peppers. The buffalo burger on my previous visit was equally good.

Wow! 2nd experience with these French fries and the Bison Burger just overloaded my taste buds. That fresh peppers and Chipotle aioli! #bestoflima Chef killed it!
Excellent potato chips. Good fried shrimp. Acceptable perch. Small portions. Disgusting coleslaw. Abysmal service times. At first, we waited to be seated for 5 minutes, and left, assuming they were closed. We checked the hours and went back in. We spent the vast majority of our time here with EMPTY glasses and we watched other patrons uncomfortably shift in their seats waiting and waiting... and waiting. In total, for my date and me to wait 38 minutes for our food on a slow Monday afternoon was not to my liking. I am unsatisfied.
Great staff and great food. Clean, friendly, cozy. Make reservations for the back patio.
I recently chose to go to the Hollander on Main for a special family dinner that included my daughter's fiance, because of the ambiance of the restaurant and the good food. The ambiance and food we ate were still good, but the experience during and after the dinner was quite disappointing. The meals that my daughter and her fiance received were not as they were described in the menu. In one case, it was simply the absence of gold beets from the beet salad, and not being told that there were no gold beets available. In the other case, the Valentino Chicken Caprese received did not come close to the menu description. The server attempted to reconcile the differences, but was not able to, and told us we would need to talk to the manager to see if we could get what it was supposed to be. We said that was fine, but had to wait for such a long time before the manager came to our table, that the rest of us had eaten most of our meals by the time she arrived. The manager asserted that the entree received was the one in the menu, even though it differed in practically every aspect. She did agree not to charge us for that meal, but NEVER offered to either bring the entree as described in the menu, or any other entree as a replacement. My daughter's fiance ended up having my son's leftover french fries and my wife's third pulled pork slider for something to eat. The waitress did offer free ice cream to my daughter's fiance, but we were ready to leave by then (and had planned to go for ice cream at Dairy Queen later). On top of that, when my daughter posted a review based on my encouragement, because of the manager taking so long to see about our problem and also not offering to replace the meal, the response she received was that the manager did offer a replacement meal, the staff had done all they could otherwise, but they would check the menu description. Good food good ambiance bad customer relations one family lost as customers.
Excellent atmosphere. Staff was attentive and took good care of us. Great food. Loved the pizza. Their Lucky Shamrock drink was like a St. Patrick's themed Tequilla Sunrise... Watch out for it though. Its so good you dont realize how quickly you're getting there.
The building and atmosphere is amazing but the back patio really steals the spotlight. However, the food wasn't as good as I'd expect for a place like this. It's almost as if they can't decide what they want to be. The ice-cream was just okay though some flavors were gross. I used to live in Columbus and frequented Jeni's. The Hollander is aiming for those strange gourmet flavors without the heart and expertise. If a place is going to try to be the new Jeni's Splendid Ice-cream then they need to go all in. You can also find better wood-fired pizzas/food in downtown Wapakoneta at J. Marie's. Again, they're just trying to be okay at everything instead of experts on one or two things. Hopefully they iron these issues out because sitting outside on the patio is a real treat.
First time here and it was amazing! Food was excellent...ice cream was delicious...and the atmosphere was awesome! We will definitely be back!
