Good for kids
Great nature hike that took about one hour to complete the yellow and long blue side. Marked well with a nice walk around Manton pond! Use bug spray! Great for kids to climb on rocks and trees fallen across the path!

Beautiful hiking/walking trails in a very convenient location! This is a wonderful place to decompress and enjoy a good walk. We went here on a hot July afternoon to get a little relief from the heat. The trails here are well-marked with fresh blazes, and there is a trail map with your location labeled at every major intersection. Lots of chipmunks, too! Overall, we did about 2.5 miles in a little over an hour, covering the majority of the trails. Great place to bring the kids, too!
Drove there. Sign posted: CLOSED because of pandemic restrictions and neighbor complaints about parking. Wasted 45 minutes on the road ... not to mention the carbon emissions. Bounced over to Route 44, Steere Hill, Glocester Land Trust .... which gets 5 stars,.
Peaceful and beautiful. Great for all ages.
Pleasant enough hike, if unremarkable. Some stone wall and outcroppings of marble - this at one point was an advertised feature but you get the sense that they stopped either because of confusion (the ledges aren't much to look at) or because something nicer looking was mined. The highlight of the preserve is the area around the pond, though this is somewhat spoiled by the line of homes running along one edge of the forest.
