Came here in early April 2021 on the suggestion of the hosts at Jagger's Campground about 2 miles away. The price is right (free) and the 2nd largest cave in NM is literally IN the campsite! It's closed (fence), but still very cool. Scenery is nice and it's super secluded. No water, but the vault toilet was cleaner than my home bathroom.

A very nice CG with only three full size sites. Very quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful (free) resource for public use, nice campground with three sites, pit toilet, concrete slab with shade. Please don’t litter.

This is one of my favorite free camp sites. It has a basic unisex bathroom. Trash cans and gazebos with slabs are laid out around the waterless toilet room. We camped in a tent and drove in with a jeep with no problem but the road is a bit washed out and bumpy. We stayed one night and we had quite a bit of privacy. There were a few other people parked in the park area to hike, bike or the like but no other campers were in the camp ground after dark that night. We heard nothing but crickets all night with clear skies and a cool breeze. When we woke up in the morning we saw the overseer come in to do his morning checks of the area and the restroom. After he left, we started to pack up when we saw a military looking caravan pull in. It had a mix of modern and antique vehicles. They had weapons with blanks and full camo fatigues. After they all hopped out to take a leak, we made our way out so they could get on with the show. The cave was closed but we did see a huge, magnificent elk with gigantic antlers walking on the highway as we left. We were in the other lane and we all passed each other with no problem. Whew!

Small and a ways out a wash board dirt road but very private and quiet. Clean and well kept with metal shelters over cement pads with fire rings and tables. New pit toilet put in at the start of 2018. BTW mountain lion tracks in the camp sites.

Hidden gem! This is a small, off-the-beaten-track BLM campground that was really nice. Excellent facilities, great location. We'll come back again.

Awesome primitive campground run by the BLM. Not crowded and had trash cans, shelters at 3 spots, and a vault toilet.
