Horrible, horrible. horrible experience! My grandmother was admitted and sadly passed away. My family was not contacted by the facility when she was transferred to the hospital. According to the hospital, they had a difficult time getting a hold of anyone at the facility to collect additional information. The hospital said she arrived highly dehydrated along with large bed sores. I talked with the nursing director about my concerns, and she was going to look into her chart and get back with me. She never did. I called and talked with the Administrator, and by the way she was responding, she had no clue who my grandmother even was. She was not sympathetic at all, and eventually became sarcastic and rude when I started asking questions. How can the Administrator who runs the building be so uncaring, unthoughtful and cruel at such a stressful and difficult time? Before the end of the phone call, I told her that my grandmother would not be returning because we would be looking elsewhere. Sadly, my grandmother never made it out of the hospital. If I can save just one person from having the horrible experience I had, writing this review did its purpose.

Excellence from the Start!!! The rehab team is amazing! They are very professional, going above and beyond for each one of their patients. Erin has done an amazing job of finding the perfect staff for certain roles. Michael is an outstanding nurse and makes the patients feel at home. I love working with this team!!!!

My brother was recently staying with Old Cheney Rehab. We had a pleasant experience all around. He was receiving mostly PT and OT and I cannot say enough how great the therapy department is! Nursing staff was excellent. I had a wonderful time getting to know some of the aides that were helping my brother. I was impressed that situations were handled quickly and with care whenever we had concerns. The only reason I gave a 4 star review was due to the night shift. I feel that they are disorganized with their communication. We had a rough start in the beginning but we worked through it. The food was great. I ate a few meals here and most of the patients seemed satisfied. My brother is picky, and it was nice that they offered options. This was better food than I have had in previous skilled nursing facilities when I was the patient. I saw other reviews and need to note that this is not a 5 star restaurant, so expectations need to be lowered. But they do a great job for the setting that they are in. Staff here are great from every department! I developed a lot of close personal ties with some of them. Anyone will talk to you and seem genuinely interested. I would highly recommend this facility for your next stay!

If there was a way to give them lower i would. My brother was put there by his poa he requires feeding and drinks to be given among other things in which 12 days after he went there he wound up being hospitalized which started out as an exam in which he who is totally disabled was simply dropped off in a doorway where i was to meet him never expected him to be alone he goes back has half the tests they scheduled done in which they sent him without any breakfast having been feed to him so while waiting for next test he wound up having a seizure which we found out was caused by severe dehydration and then we found out that he had also lost 10 pounds in the 12 days he was there and so during his stay i tried to communicate with them yet no one ever knew what was going on eitherso i strongly discourage people from placing loved ones in facilities like this even though it looks great and they say all the right stuff

My wife is here now. I’d go 5 stars for staff. Friendly and caring. 5 stars for the really nice interiors. 5 stars for rehab programs with PT twice a day and OT once a day. 1 star for food. It’s all frozen or canned. A pair of 10 year olds with scissors, a can opener and a microwave could manage this. When you think about the hundreds of dollars per night for the rooms and the 2 or 3 dollars being spent on food it’s petty. It’s also against the patients interests. Fresh prepared food can’t be that expensive to do...Vegetables, fruits, meats and grain bread are going to help patients recover (sluggish bowels and wound healing for example) The processed manufactured foods I’m seeing at meal time are going to do the exact opposite. I regularly bring food in and have noticed others doing the same. Update.... hit and miss. Wife enjoyed the ribs. Hang out for those! I did notice recently a meal with unprocessed meat and a few veg. Looked okay.
