I love Pioneer Park Nature Center! Not only do they have bison, but there are paths through either forest or prairie indigenous wildflowers. My granddaughter loves it. My wife and I love it. While walking around a pond last week, we said, all those sticks cannot ALL be the heads of bullfrogs! They were, and we have a great splashing and hopping about video for our three-year-old grandchild. She went last time and saw all the bison. I have to take her back soon, for the frogs. The sunflowers, milkweed seed pods and turtles were also a big hit. It’s such a wonderful asset, saving a beautiful hunk of wildflowers is a great gift to the next generation of hikers and fans of the outdoor life!

What a beautiful experience. Absolutely hands down the best park in the state. Extremely well kept . So many things to do for all ages. we as a family personally really enjoy the nature hiking. If you do go please remember there are donation boxes to help keep it up. Definitely worth it one of the reasons I moved to Lincoln

A big park with a lot to do. The most well known attraction is the Bison, and if they are close to the fence, the experience is fantastic, but like most herd animals they like to roam and are not often near the fences. Near the bison is a nature preserve area with trails, a suspension bridge, several lakes, and more trails. The trails are a great place for casual exercise and to reconnect with nature. (Take your time and smell the flowers, see the frogs, walk with butterflies, and pet the cattails.) There are large open areas for group games, and fairly nice playground equipment for kids. Pack a lunch and take the kids; it's a great park. (Also, I was very impressed by how clean the park is. Great job to all who work there.)

Nice park but very few trash cans so there’s lots of litter around the trails unfortunately. Some paved and unpaved paths. Parking was easy on a Saturday.
