Was rainy, beautiful landscape in eastern Alberta. Very unexpected. Sand hills, pines and apsen forest. Camping sites are less secluded, but there is a great sandy beach area and playground for kids. Great trails around. Some need some maintenance (or more use) but you'll be rewarded for pushing through.

A fantastic, quiet, relaxing camping trip. Stayed at Ross Lake Campground - found within WLPP l. Camp site, beach and trails were well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. 10 for a tote of wood was very convenient. Trails along the water were beautiful - well maintained. Lots of animals - birds, squirrels, frogs and rabbits seen. No bears, although some were reported in the area. Showers were off the weekend I went. Scalding hot, but they were working on a solution. Will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful camping experience at Ross Lake campground! The campsites were quite spacious and private. The outhouses were taken care of, and water taps were nearby. Both Ross Lake and Whitney Lake were gorgeous. The beaches were lovely and the water was clear and swimmable. Our kids enjoyed the playgrounds as well. We hope to go back next year!

Clean, clear lake with sandy beaches. Private campsites, well treed. FIshing and cleaning stations. Kms of trails to cycle. Found a beautiful moss forest with all variety of mushrooms. It looked like was dropped in from the BC coast. Remarkable. Showers were closed. Outhouse toilets were dirty with overflowing garages, unpainted floors and no hand sanitizer - they could definitely use cleaning and maintenance. .

Crowded in the summer, so I recommend a fall trip. Whitney Lake's Lakeview trail is completely flooded. Nice sandy beach with a play structure. Unreserved fire pits near the beach for easy cooking. Clean, but old bathrooms. Nice day trip if you want to get out of the City.
