Perfect spot to rest a little, enjoy the view and a glass of white wine sangria

One of the places in Alfama where it is worth stopping, drink coffee, eat something sweet, listen to fado from a distance (someone will definitely be playing and singing) and then get lost in the absolutely amazing streets of old Lisbon. The small square of Portas do Sol overlooking Alfama and the Tagus River. Starting in the morning and entering the square shrouded in thick fog, within 40 minutes we could already admire its surroundings.

Amazing view over the river with a cool background music. Chicken pies were tasty and a perfect match for the cold beer in a hot summer afternoon

Nice view and atmosphere, good if you like your oxygen with a view. I saw some people sit on the terrace wall which I bet is amazing

Beautiful spot for a drink with a view. There’s a couple of bars around but this place is out on the street so you get plenty of atmosphere with the buskers etc. Kiosk is good value, they do small bites and delish sangria too. A couple of white wine sangrias, couple of pints of superboc and 4 pasteis de nata was the order and we were getting change of twenty euro. The Only issue with the place is as it’s not a bar or restaurant as such, there’s no bathrooms to use. You’ll have to make your way into one of the local bars and ask politely, but you’ll have no trouble as everyone we asked was incredibly polite and helpful. Cracking views over the Alfama district we ended up coming over to this part of the city most evenings and chilling at the kiosk for a couple of hours. They’ve garden furniture out for sitting on and live music playing constantly in the evenings. If you’re not living or staying local, you can catch the famous number 28 street tram which passes the kiosk and hikes up the hills behind you (it stops right at the kiosk, so you can’t miss it. Can’t recommend this spot enough. Obrigado

Good views, good sangria. It can be a bit noisy with the passing trams. Also note, you must pay at the counter for your food/drink. Anywho, very chill, very relaxing. P.S. It can be windy, boyfriend’s sangria was just blown away! :D
