I was looking for service on my classic Crown IC-150 preamplifier - one channel was dead. After emailing Larry at Approved Audio Service, I received a quick reply advising me of their terms and conditions. The repair was handled professionally and quickly - within two weeks- and the pricing was very fair. Larry took the time to explain the problem and the repair. My Crown preamp is back in service and is working as well as the day I purchased it 40 years ago.

I have been using Approved Audio Service for over twenty years and there is a reason for that ...they are VERY good at what they do. Their prices are fair and their work is absolutely first rate. Whether you need someone to fix HDMI issues on your new receiver or repair your vintage tube gear, Larry is your man. I just picked up my Yamaha A-S1100, which was killed (as in dead) by a power outage during a storm. Larry diagnosed the problem, ordered the necessary parts and finished the work in timely fashion. I hope he never retires.
No muss no fuss. You're dealing with a consummate old-school professional here. Had a receiver that stopped producing sound and it was fixed quickly and at a fair price.
This is an unsolicited review. I brought my Marantz Model Unit SR-14 EX to Approved Audio Service in Litchfield, Ct. for diagnosis and(if possible) restoration on February 14, 2020. To my surprise, I received an analysis of the issues in less than 10 days. Accordingly, I was provided with a report and a estimate for the repair cost as well. The cost estimate for said restoration appeared to be fair; after all the unit is over twenty years old. I was acutely aware; parts may not be readily available. However, Larry the proprietor of Approved Audio Service, while not promising, did provide the assurance, that he would be in a due diligence mode, to achieve his best effort. Nonetheless, he forwarded an e-mail less than 3 weeks (from my initial drop off) later, that the unit was restored (to original specifications) and ready to be picked up. Approved Audio Service is approximately 90 miles from my home and it was exceptionally worth the trip. Larry demonstrated with details, photographs of all of the defective parts and included same in a plastic bag for me to observe and confirm the defective units. When one is a consummate professional (like Larry) you do exactly that for your clientele. I wholeheartedly, with no reservation at all, highly recommend Approved Audio Services to all who needs a qualified and experienced professional. I trust I will not need his services again... When you need to get your audio equipment fixed in a throw-away world, you can't ask for a better shop! If you've ever tried to find one when you need one, you know how rare they are these days. I read a cranky review...and I'd say they need to get their \cranky\ fixed...and that shop is down the road a bit . Give them a shot, you'll be glad you found them! Shop is on the back side of a building parallel to the Stop & Shop, lot entries connect
