After reading their website and how Wee Care was initially started because the owners' daughter has autism, I thought this place would be perfect for my non-verbal autistic son. After seeing the first therapist, it was not a great match. This therapist had no patience for a non-verbal autistic child. She suggested to have him receive behavioral therapy prior to receiving any therapy at all for speech or occupational therapy. During the first therapy session she was questioning him constantly when a speech therapist should engage in conversation rather than ask questions back to back. It’s very overwhelming to a child with autism. We decided to see a second therapist there which was even worse. My son became frustrated and started to spit on things and even her. Instead of redirecting him to a calmer therapy activity she grabbed his mouth firmly. That was the last chance. Wee Care is not an office that I would recommend anyone to and it's unfortunate that their office has therapists who do not have patience working with children with disabilities. Their front office staff even lacks basic communication amongst each-other as I had previously called to cancel all his appointments that were scheduled out. They called me asking if I was going to come in when I had spoken to the receptionist previously to let them know we were transferring care. I had also called more than three times to obtain a note stating that the therapist recommended to discontinue therapy until behavioral therapy was increased. Never received a call back from the therapist like I was told I would. Think these therapists really care for your child? Think again.
