I called to try to get help with a probate case and whomever AMY is is very RUDE. After speaking with a law firm about Pro Bono and they told me they go through legal services. Well, Amy has me on speaker phone sound like she was done in a hole. Nevertheless, I tried to explain to her my situation and she cut me off, didn’t seem like she was knowledgeable very unprofessional. So after I mentioned wanting to speak to her supervisor she act like she wanted to help. By then I don’t want your help I want to talk to your supervisor. She is very rude and condescending.

Ms. Pence represented me in my divorce. Ms. Pence is very formal and her response time is sharp. She went above and beyond my expectations. She rock! Thank you again Lynn Pence.

This might be a business where one's experience is going to depend on who he or she works with, because I have had nothing but good experiences working with CfALS. I have never encountered anyone in the office with a bad attitude, the attorney I have worked with has not been lazy or uncaring in any way whatsoever, and communication has been top notch. They make me feel that my case and my issues are important (especially my attorney, he has been fantastic). Always encouraging but also always honest. I did experience being cut off while I was being taken through the phone application experience, however it was not done in a manner that was rude or condescending. When it comes to pros like this, they really just need the facts and they don't have time to listen to long-winded explanations. If you need legal help and you are unable to afford it, please consider checking out the Center for Arkansas Legal Services and see if you qualify. They really have helped me with the process of starting over in my life, and I cannot thank them enough for the services they provide to folks like me going through difficult times. Please don't judge solely on the reviews; give them a call and give them a chance.

Called last week to place and application for financial assistance for a bankruptcy attorney. Their automated service says you can place an application online. Placed application online. Called today and was told no application was received, but since the phone was answered at 4 minutes til 11 I had to \call back at 1 since we don't accept applications at this time\. Okay. Called back at 1. Spoke to a \Mrs. Wilder\ I believe. Same woman I talked to before 11. She asked me about my household size and income. I receive WIC and will be receiving food stamps and that is all my daughter and I need to get by. We live with my aunt, but she does not charge us rent and I have no bills to pay and ZERO income. My aunt does not foot ANY of my bills, yet she is still considered part of my household? Right. So they need my aunt's income even though she doesn't cover any of my expenses? She wouldn't even let me explain that my aunt's income has NO BEARING on my financial situation, so even though I have no money and no one to help me pay for an attorney they won't speak to me about assistance. Yeah. Thanks a lot. I WILL be calling the governor's office and any other legal organization I can to see that THIS \organization\ is handled. I don't need your little generic automated \apology\. I urge anyone seeking this assistance to just avoid it all together. It seems their staff are rude and incompetent and the qualifications are set up to only help those who have income. If you don't have any income, expect no help.
