Good for kids
Great beach for a family and dog walks. The only problem is a lack of bins. You walk for a good 45 minutes without seeing any bin.

Great pebble beach with some sand. Just under two hours away from London Victoria by train. You can get either direct train or with one change which is about 20 quicker then the direct one. If you like crowd places you can go to the beach from the pier with easy access to all attractions, snack places or if you someone more like me who like a bit more space you can walk to the right, cross the bridge and then you will get to the nice and more private pebble beach. It’s about 25 minutes walk from the train station. If you driving there you can get there by car, there is a parking space ( its a pay car park ). Very nice beach with low tide in the morning and early afternoon and high tide in the late afternoon. I found much easier access to the water during the high tide.
Shame this place has been left to go to pieces. This once strategic defensive position desperately need a lot of money thrown at it. A slice of history waiting to be brought back to life.
Exciting to e the earth works at Littlehampton old Fort, can't wait to see results!
This redoubt, built in 1854, was to defend the Arun against the possible French forces of Napoleon III, nephew of Napoleon I. There is not much to see and can only be viewed along one edge by the coastal path. Let's hope that they can save and restore this little piece of history.
I walked to the Old Fort from Climping beach car park. There is a mixture of shingle, sand and sand dunes as you head towards Littlehampton. The Fort is a ruin just off from the golf course.
Lovely little stroll down the beach and back through the sand dunes ️
Lovely to walk by the beach
