Our experience with AF Wake was fantastic. We come here every year and rent our boats/jet skis from Eaton Ferry Marina right next door but had never used AF Wake or visited there before. First, we rented a tube to pull with boat because Eaton Ferry stopped renting tubes this year, and AF Wake's prices were great (40 for the first day, 10 for each additional day - far less than other places we've rented from) and the tube was in great shape. While there we were told about wake board and wake surfing lessons. We decided to do this later in the week and called to schedule a 3 hour lesson on their pro boat (highly suggest this options for the best experience). Chance was our teacher/expert and he was absolutely fantastic... extremely patient with everyone and he did a great job of teaching small adjustments each time that you could make to continue to improve but weren't overwhelmed with each step. He quickly diagnosed any issues and offered positive feedback, encouragement and suggestions/coaching. All of us were able to get up and wake surf with only a few tries each! We all had an AMAZING time and I would highly suggest this as a MUST-DO event when you are at Lake Gaston. Total cost was 175/hour, they provide all the gear, and I would suggest a minimum of 30-45 min per person for your group so you have time to learn and then spend some time boarding. We'll definitely be back to try wake surfing during our next visit!

We had a spectacular time! Jake our wake board instructor and boating master was phenomenal. Jake did so well with our kids, he was patient and his words were kind, uplifting and encouraging when they did something wrong. I really cant say enough about Jake! Wakeboarding is our new favorite! Can't wait to come back!

We had such a great time learning to wake board with Adam Fields! As first time boat owners, this day was incredibly helpful! Both myself, my husband and our two boys were able to get up on the wake board consistently- we learned the ins and outs of making the perfect wave and how to use our boat efficiently! He shared info about the lake, gear tips and truly covered everything we needed to know. This afternoon of instruction probably cut a year off of our learning curve!!

What an awesome experience. Adam was incredible. My son is a decent wakeboarder and in 1 session, he learned probably 10-12 new tricks he can begin practicing. I would highly recommend AF Wake for instruction. To have this resource so close to us is a incredible.
