I would just like to say how disappointed we were with our meal and the service we received this evening. I called the restaurant just before 5.00 pm to see what time they opened and whether we needed to book a table. The lady I spoke to said they opened at 5.00 pm and we should just come along. On arrival a man asked us if we had booked and I explained I had called but been advised to just come along. (He did not look pleased). He showed us to a table that was set for 7 people when there was a table behind set for two which was free the whole time we were in the restaurant. We ordered our meals, the starters came, my friend had ordered pate which she enjoyed. I had ordered the ribs, these were not particularly warm and there was little bits of splintered bone in every other mouthful. For the main course we had both ordered the lamb. The meals arrived and the plates were stone cold which meant the meal did not stay warm very long. The lamb was quite greasy in texture, tough to eat and not very warm. Our drinks were fine and the service from the rest of the staff was very good. The 'chunky chip's' were hot and lovely!! We did complain about our meal but nothing was done to redress the situation.

Went to Jalons in October for family celebration and food was excellent and had a fab night. Booked again for family celebration party of 9 on 30 Jan 2016 and was very disappointed. The food was not the same quality with 2 of the group having to send back their steaks to be redone as they were cold. They had no pinot grigio in either white or blush and therefore had to order wine which would not really be my choice. Can't understand how a restaurant like this could run out of wine. Service was mediocre in that half way through the meal my husband's wine glass was empty and even though there were bottles of wine on the table, the waitress removed his glass. Why on earth would you do that. Expect that from a pub, not a restaurant! Had 2 courses, of which half of the set menu had supplements of up to 9.95. Never offered to see the desert menu of coffees. When asked for drinks and bill, they were forthcoming but the whole service experience felt like they couldn't be bothered. To be honest, I should have complained at the time, but just wanted to get out of there and based on the way we were served, I'm not convinced my complaint would have been taken on board. Easiest way to complain is let my feet do the walking and not bother going again. Cant believe the difference in my experience from October 15 to January 16.
Gorgeous food and great service! Never had a bad meal here and the piano player is a nice touch.

Staff friendly management or whoever the blonde lady was sitting on her laptop was vile had four kids in our party every time one of them moved she would give a dirty look don't put a kids menu on if you don't want them there!!! Food was awful!!
Myself and a group of 20 people from work got took to are table and basically left took forever to get our orders finally took our order then we waited ages to get our food too STARTER was better then the MAIN. Main was burnt & overly cooked fish. The girls from work was telling me how good the place was before we went there last night so it is a huge let down! we should of refused to pay as the food was that bad WILL not be going again also NOT value for money could make it yourself for half the price. OH and to top my night off THE music was that loud i went outside with a massive headache awful singer also.
