I used Alexandra Chambers to deal with the purchase of my home in June of this year. The conveyancing was dealt with satisfactorily, however when I subsequently had a problem with the sellers not fulfilling part of the contract, Alexandra Chambers were sadly lacking. I contacted their office about the issues I was having at the beginning of September, and was told that they would contact the sellers solicitor. A month went by with me calling and emailing them regularly, to be told that they hadn't heard anything and would send the vendors solicitors a reminder. More time went by with me hearing nothing, so I emailed again, only to be told the person I'd been dealing with had left, but the new person was going to write to the sellers solicitors again. It wasnt until towards the end of October that Alexandra Chambers finally admitted that they could find no record of any letter being sent by the first person I'd dealt with, so all that time had been wasted. I feel totally exhausted from dealing with this, constantly having to call and call for updates because calls were rarely returned. I've been lied to and misled by this company. I paid them in full for their conveyancing service, which includes dealing with the contract of sale. The sellers have failed to perform and make good their side of the contract, and Alexandra Chambers answer to this is that I need to find a different solicitor to deal with this, as its not something they deal with. I wouldn't recommend this company.
