I liked it here a lot but I feel like they could do more interesting baked goods. Salad sandwich my girlfriend loves but I find it kind of messy and too much cheese. No coffee unless your sitting down.

Oh wow ! Can I say this is the best plain croissant in Melbourne! Light buttery outside and flaky , even has been sitting all day in the bag . Totally delicious for 5 !
I was having such a terrible morning, almost a nervous breakdown. I thought I might feel better after eating something. Went to loafer bread, ordered something and realised I had no money. This kind hearted, beautiful and lovely girl let me have the food and pay later. I am so grateful to her and this business which gave her the liberty to do so. peace.
I've been going there for years, right from the beginning in fact when it was owned by the Canadian guys. Their croissants are fantastic, so is their bread, but recently a decided that I'm sick of the 'customer service'. Blank eyes, expressionless faces, minimum number of words to do the transaction. I've spent whole minutes staring at the backs of the staff after the person at the counter turned away without even acknowledging me. This is not an occasional thing--like I said, I've been going there for a long time for the sake of the bread. Recently they insisted on minimum orders of 30, which is a form of price gouging. Went in again for a croissant recently and thought, that's enough.
Loafer life. The best of the best. Nothing legit beats Loafer at anything. Best almond crossiants hands down in Melbourne.
Incredible sourdough. The croissants are NEXT level, flaky, slightly over baked so super crisp, total buttery goodness with a batch brew. Their savoury danishes and sandwhiches are epic too. Very adorable little shop, ideally get takeaways and sit in the sunshine at Edinburgh gardens.
Ripped off! 2 x sausage rolls with sauce 18 They were too flakey (flakes covered the footpath and the seat where we sat and ate) and meat overcooked/dry. Better sausage rolls at Piedmontes across the road for 3.
This tiny little shop in North Fitzroy produces some of the most flavorsome foods you are ever likely to eat. I tried the light rye sourdough and an apple pastry and the amount of flavor, texture and attention to detail is fantastic. I haven't tried their coffee yet but it must be equal to what I just ate. Bring your own cup if you want coffee take away too, they dont supply those plastic lined paper cups and a good thing too. Highly recommend.
