I received a birthday gift card, when I went shopping they were having a 30% off sale on tops and sweaters. When I went to check out the discount was not applied, I asked why and they told me discounts are voided when a gift card is used. So basically because I was using gifted money (which they still make a profit from) and not my own, I am not allowed to get the discount the store advertised on “all tops and sweaters”. I didn’t think that was fair. They need to disclose that and have better customer service.

With a heavy heart, I must update my review. I still have zero complaints about the store itself, or the employees that work there. But, this lovely couch is painful to sit on... literally. One of the selling points for us was the fact that the cushions were lined/reinforced so the down could not poke through from inside. My husband was specifically worried about that possibility. And, now here we are. Initially, I tried to convince my husband that it was just because the cushions were brand new... that the feathers would stop poking through as we settled into it. Not true. Here we are almost 8 months later, getting poked every time we sit down. It's unfortunate because I love the couch, love the fabric, and we paid a lot of money for it to only end up being comfortable if we put blankets down first. So, BUYER BEWARE.

Not a very knowledgeable staff on the sale. We were going to buy some shirts and were told they were not on sale, yet online they were. My sister went to another store and they happily gave her the sale price.

Enjoyed finding clothes with Hannah. She was delightful! So helpful and happy to help me find clothes and jewelry for our family photo. Everyone in Down East is so nice and helpful. No pressure to buy anything just helpful!

I walked into the store looking for an outfit for a photo shoot for my work and the girl there was extremely attentive. She made sure I had the sizes I needed and even came back to check on my outfits. It was the most pleasant experience I have had in a long time shopping.

I was in the store a few days ago and witnessed the managers and staff expertly handle what looked like a situation where several customers were clearly trying to intimidate the staff behind the front counter. I’m not sure what the issue was, but the customers were yelling at the staff and reaching over the counter – it was actually really uncomfortable and pretty scary. I was both frightened by and embarrassed for the customers, so I just wanted to leave a review to say that I was so impressed by how the staff and manager handled the situation with calm professionalism. It could have been a lot worse of a situation, but they maintained their cool and were able to get those people out of there without it escalating to violence. In scrolling through reviews, it looks like someone else maybe posted about this event in a way that completely misrepresents what happened. If you’re a potential customer reading through reviews, just know that the staff and manager are terrific and exhibited nothing but professional behavior in the face of customers clearly trying to intimidate them.
