Avoid Lompoc Valley Medical Center. Specifically, do not do any lab work there. They are super expensive. I have medical insurance, but I still had to pay 169 for a skin sample test, 165 for a urine test, and 300 for a feces sample test. Very basic lab tests. These tests were for my children. We will never use this lab again. Go elsewhere!

My mother was discharged with her bandage completely fallen off. She said it hadn’t been treated for the total 4 days she had been there. She was admitted into med surge after having a drainage entered into her side for prior ulcer issues. I called med surge and they told me to go to Walmart and buy some gauze and do it myself. I told them NO and that I would be there within 10 minutes and for a nurse to meet me to redo it. Two nurses come out and were absolutely rude. The nurse doesn’t even fix it and tells us that it isn’t a big deal and repeats that multiple times. Then states that they aren’t aloud to be doing this and instructs me on what to do myself. I tell them that they are not aloud to be discharging their patients like this and she rolls her eyes at me and rudely says that she will “pass it on”. Very disappointed and this isn’t the first time I’ve had an AWFUL experience there. This is just the first time I am reporting and reviewing. Please if you are in the Lompoc area are thinking about going to the Lompoc hospital then save yourself and go to Santa Ynez Cottage or SM Marion. It will benefit you in the long run.

I am a Vietnam Vet. over the last 10 years I have had to go to the emergency room 8 times. Every time I have gotten excellent care. except for one nurse every staff member has treated me with the greatest respect and care. hey have provided me with every piece of knowledge that I needed each and every time. The last time I had to have my gall bladder removed and I was nothing but pleased with the care I got and the professionalism afforded me by Dr. William Pierce who did the surgery. For the people who wrote complaining about the staff I can only imagine how rude and boorish these people were to the staff! The last surgery the West VA Hospital performed was a nightmare! I'll go to LVMC any time over the VA!

Avoid this hospital at all costs. Drive to cottage in Solvang or Goleta. I had a personal emergency and I needed to speak to a crisis counselor, they did not have one on site and they were gonna call someone in from the county but needed up calling the wrong agency! I waited in my room for over 8 hours for someone to show up only to be told they called the wrong people by the person from the correct agency. AVOID

Had an awful experience. Went to er with COVID 19 symptoms mind you my Husband was at er for same thing past day. his vitals were normal but tested him for COVID just in case because he was having symptoms and he has COVID 19. My vitals were normal but I had symptoms of COVID 19 and the staff refused to test me and called the Police and they handcuffed me out. I tested at Lompoc H St Medical center. Found out 5 days later that I have COVID 19
