After being diagnosed with osteoporosis, I knew I needed to add strength training to my life, but was afraid of injury. I found Julie online because she is trained in the Bone Fit /Too Fit To Fracture program recommended by Osteoporosis Canada. I can't say enough about Julie's kind approach and level of knowledge. Her corrections and teaching make sense and are effective. Highly recommended!
I first came after the birth of my second child, and have made so much progress in my strength, flexibility, and general mobility. Julie is so knowledgeable and the sessions are really comprehensive. The clinic is very warm and inviting and has everything you need to gain back functional movement.
I was referred to Julie by a fitness professional & began working with her Dec/18. Julie has made me aware that I don’t have to experience pain everyday! I have had low back/hip pain for more than 25 years, so to be taught that by moving my body correctly I can move without pain is LIFE changing for me!! Julie is incredibly knowledgeable & genuinely wants to help each client. During each session, Julie constantly assesses my body & movements and introduces exercises, rolling techniques and stretches to decrease my pain & to encourage my body to move freely & properly. Julie’s studio is very well equipped, comfortable & welcoming. I especially love the wall system she uses during our sessions. I am so thankful for the referral to Julie as she has taught me so much about my body & how I need to care for it. I’m feeling so much better that I’m able to go to the driving range & do some golfing, things I never thought I would be able to do! Enjoyed learning exercises and stretches that I can do at home everyday to help me feel better when I move. I didn't realize how unbalanced I was in my upper body and how that was contributing to my pain and stiffness. I wish I addressed this earlier before possibly needing a hip replacement.
Julie at Align Family Fitness is an incredible resource! Not only does she know her stuff and set competitive rates, her services are recognized by some health benefit plans, as she is a registered kinesiologist, making her extra affordable! Julie takes her time with her clients. She has offered to shadow me in my home environment post partum to see how I could tweak things at home to avoid injuries lifting, cleaning and caring for my family. Her genuine, caring nature encourages creative suggestions for exercises and constant review to ensure that the program is working. I have never been an athlete and I flew through the program correcting all of my imbalances and increasing my strength post partum. My body felt so much better. I am no longer feeling weak in my grip strength or having sciatic pain on one side of my body. I learned better and safer ways to carry my children and to stand in a neutral stance; reducing my overall imbalance and pain! Julie's services are unmatched in the London Area. Her studio is bright, clean and beautiful! I highly recommend the Functional Movement Screening before signing up for any other workout program. Men and women can benefit from Julie's knowledge! By completing the screening you will be fully aware of any weakness needing attention, thus preventing injuries and reducing future risk. Move Well so you can Move More!!
After recovering from a hip replacement in 2016, I had two significant falls in 2017. I was left feeling robbed of the ability to live a joyful life. Simple pleasures like getting up and down on the floor to play with my grandsons were challenges. Then my daughter introduced me to Align Family Fitness. I am not being melodramatic when I say that my program with Julie is changing my life. On my July vacation in hilly Greece, I was able to do the majority of my program with modifications Julie taught me. With Julie’s continuing support I am now planning to hike El Camino de Santiago in October 2018. The pilgrims used an ancient salute Ultreya (Onward). Thank you Julie for my ability to physically and emotionally move onward.
I really enjoyed working out with Julie in her beautiful space. There is a lot of great equipment including a really interesting yoga wall that enables you to do different types of stretches and exercises. Julie was super helpful, knowledgeable, and encouraging. I liked learning while I was doing my assessment and being provided with lots of information afterwards. Having had 4 babies and struggled with diastasis recti, it's nice to be able to talk to someone who has a lot of knowledge about post-natal recovery and feel confident that I can proceed with exercise safely.
