This statue by Irena Selecka (who passed away in August 2020) was erected in 2002 to commemorate the Regency dandy, Beau Brummell, who lived nearby. A favorite of the Prince Regent, he completely transformed men's fashion with a more tailored look. He lived the \high life\ and eventually exhausted his modest resources. After exiling himself in France to escape his debts he died there completely penniless.

Status of the man famous for his stylish attire and a leading fashion guru in the Regency period, known as the father of dandyism. Once a year he is honoured by a group of people who meet here wearing splendid outfits, it's great fun
Classic landmark for the man who made men's fashion and style an actual thing.
But a dandy can never be a vulgar man! (Baudelaire) Thanks Beau.
Conceited people who consider themselves elegant take photos with him. Others just take photos of him.
