My time at BeecherMadden was a very disappointing one. Obviously, these are all my own views and opinions but I found many things to be unlike those I'd been told at interview. The company has an extremely high staff turnover (including hiring and firing an MD within 3 months). There is not a positive culture in the company, in fact, people don't really talk to each other in the office unless it's terrible 'banter'. There is a very small client list (true clients where terms have been signed) and many of the companies I was told they work with had never come across the business before. There are very few people in the business with recruitment experience, many fewer who have worked at more than one company so I found that there is no enthusiasm or real ability among those working there in comparison to other recruitment firms. The two owners were very uninspiring to me, they didn't offer anything in terms of motivation or leadership. In fact, they stood in front of everyone on a Friday and said 'if you aren't prepared to work hard, there's the door' and waited to see if any one had walked out. I had no confidence in the leaders within this company, didn't enjoy the office environment, there was no distinguishing culture, lack of clients, poor systems management by consultants and overall, lack of real opportunities that actually meant anything. Many assurances made to me throughout the interview process weren't actually given when I joined. I'd suggest that before anybody joins BeecherMadden they take a look on LinkedIn at how many former employees they have and how long many of them worked for the company - then draw your own conclusions.
