I returned home early from France with recurrent cardiac symptoms on the Friday after Christmas. I had telephoned Rekha and she very kindly said she would see me on the Saturday even though it was a weekend and still the holiday period. I consulted Dr Webb-Peploe because some cardiac malfunction had been detected and I was very concerned to take the best course between submitting to potentially serious invasive procedures and risking a major cardiac incident by refusing them. Dr Webb-Peploe took a full history and an ECG, and examined me very thoroughly indeed. The technical staff then carried out more elaborate tests. The interactions between changes in blood pressure at related points in the arms and legs were tested; a full set of blood tests was carried out; and an echocardiogram test. A stress MRI scan was arranged and carried out a few days later at a hospital where the latest MRI scanner is in operation. Full reports were provided of Dr Webb-Peploe's conclusions, including his assessment of scans and test results obtained before I had consulted him. Everything about this consultation came up to the very high expectations I had from the eminent cardiologist (a family friend) who had recommended Dr Webb-Peploe). The consultation was obviously of the highest professional standard, and the equipment of the consulting and treatment rooms was perfect. The professional assistant, Rekha Dave, was wonderfully efficient at carrying out complex procedures speedily and without fuss, and helping me to feel comfortable and at ease in every way. Everyone in the practice, from Dr Webb-Peploe to the receptionist, was friendly and sympathetic, adding an important aspect to my confidence and well-being. I now feel that I am in the best possible hands.
