Amazing Cantonese restaurant with dumplings, duck and other Chinese delicacies. Food it's really tasty, doesn't feel oily like other restaurants which it's really nice. Service it's correct, with explanation on dishes. Everything was perfectly cooked, keeping all its flavours. Dumplings were specially delicious as well as the ribs. Restaurant it's in a former church which gives it a different touch!

Great place to go if you’re looking for a fancier dinner! Peking Duck was great, but a bit fattier than my personal preference, dim sum was filled to the brim and really tasty, as was the soft shell crab! Would come again because service and experience was excellent.

The first branch to open outside Hong Kong, Duddell’s London is located in the historic St Thomas Church, steps away from the Shard and London Bridge. I came here for its much hyped authentic Cantonese cuisine, hand crafted Dim-sum and Asia inspired cocktails and was not disappointed. One of the best Cantonese cuisines I had in London, this restaurant certainly does not disappoint. Service staff is so personable and cheerful, showing interests in our presence, and knowledgeable in the menu contents. Certainly a plus factor. By no means cheap & I mean the damage is significant but in my opinion, worth every dime of it! Also a big draw is the bar, serving craft cocktails with a Chinese twist as well as a dynamic wine list of old and new world wines. Go for the St. Thomas Antidote with gin, benedictine, cointreau & 5-spice (yup its weird but interestingly good!) Must try at least once! You won't regret.

We came with bigger expectations. The food: the duck (the breasts) was amazing! Juicy , crispy and rich with flavours. The black cod and the “dim sum symphony” - were very delicious! BUT on the other hand , the Bresse chicken was a huge disappointment and the second serve of the duck was mediocre . The fried chicken dumplings felt like something nice to find in a mall not in a proper restaurant. It was also disappointing to see that our waiter ignored our feedback. I wanted to give 3 starts to my review but after the desserts (the best that I’ve ever tried in an Asian restaurant) I think that 3.5 would be more accurate but I will give them 4 starts...

Amazing food and ambience. One of the best dim sum fest I’ve ever had in London. Having a lunch here was a great experience. However, the service was a bit disappointing for a one-michellin-starred restaurant—the waiter did not seem to have any understanding of the menu and had to make myself repeat the name of the dish at least three times and finger point at the menu each time. He made us unsettling because he asked us to order desserts when we hadn’t even been served the main and he had to be reminded of that (his poor English didn’t help). Quite embarrassing service for such high end restaurant and if it weren’t for the amazing quality and presentation of the food, I would have scrapped at least two stars for this review. But, again the food is amazing—if you have patience with the service and are with good company, you will have great time here.

Was disappointed to discover on our second visit that Duddell's had regressed from the authenticity and high standards of its grand opening to a tourist trap catering for a less discernable audience. Our drinks arrived after we had finished our starters, the lobster flesh from our main had a firmness and blandness normally associated with frozen storage and the seafood vermicelli was over-seasoned and contained a few sad looking chopped shrimp and a calamari ring. When our waiter conveyed our complaints to senior management, the manager refused to speak to us and we were ignored until we asked for the bill. To emphasize the point that front of house knew of our displeasure but had decided fake indignation was the best response, we were ignored again when leaving. So for the most authentic Chinese food within SE1, head to the pointed building down the road.

Nice food and very well decorated restaurant. Should try the pecking duck ! However, it is a bit expensive compared to the taste and quality.

I was looking for a great restaurant to surprise my parents after our visit to the Shard, and it didn’t disappoint. Duddell’s is a great restaurant with excellent service, great atmosphere and really elaborated and tasty dishes. The duck is of course a must and I would strongly recommend the soups, which gladly surprised us. Deserts and tea were also very nice. On the other side, it is a quite expensive restaurant (75-100 per person) and it was a big pity that all the dishes (except the soup) were served just warm or almost cold (not the best when the outside temperature was 4 degrees Celsius) Certainly not an everyday place, but a restaurant to consider if you want to celebrate an special occasion.
