Online Activities Elders Voice continues to support older people during the coronavirus outbreak and whilst it is important we look after our physical health and stay at home, it is also important we look after our mental health. We do not want our clients to miss out on opportunities to socially connect and be physically & mentally stimulated! That is why we are busy developing a timetable of wellbeing activities that can be accessed online. We aim to get you dancing in your living room at our Zumba Gold Class, warbling in your kitchen at our Afternoon Singalong, and discovering your creative side at Art Lounge Online! Stay tuned for more information on how & when to access these activities. Zumba Gold is live! Download the flyer here. Reading Friends Online Cafe is live! Download the flyer here. Lend an Ear Helpline A friendly ear at the end of the telephone line if you want to hear another voice, ask for some advice or just have a chat! It is good to talk and believe it or not, scientists have discovered gossiping actually decreases our levels of the stress hormone cortisol…not that we needed an excuse for a chin-wag! If you are self-isolating and feeling lonely, please call one of our helpline numbers below. Once you have registered your details, a member of our team will call you for a chat. The helpline is open from 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Line 1: 0208 206 7500  /  Line 2: 0208 206 7507  /  Line 3: 0208 206 7503 Food & Medication Brent residents have proved community spirit is alive & well, and have banded together to help those in need. Each ward in the borough has set-up a Mutual Aid Group, run by a dedicated team of volunteers who can fulfil requests like food shopping. If you require help with food shopping and medication collection, please download our list of Mutual Aid Group telephone numbers and free food options here. Alternatively please call Elders Voice on 0208 968 8170 and we will point you in the right direction! Brent Council are also providing a food delivery service. You can contact them on: 0208 937 1234. Additional Information Elders Voice continues to deliver a reduced Handyperson Service: 0208 206 7506 and a reduced Floating Support Service: 0208 206 7505. To minimise the risk to service users, carers, staff and volunteers, we have closed our Day Centres,  Memory Cafes and Classes until the end of August at the earliest. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Elders Voice remains committed to supporting older people in Brent and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
