It's a statue of Emperor Trajan. Don't suppose it's the original item as site very exposed. Crazy mixture of Roman and modern here plus access to Tower of London. Not an attractive place to stop with crowds and traffic.

Apparently: • Trajan never visited The British Isles. • A possibly apocryphal account suggests the bronze was found on a scrapyard in Southampton. • The original Wall was commissioned during his reign • Installed here in 1980, adding a period theatrical touch to frankly... an old wall. • It’s all about the finger.
