The bizarre introduction of 'Low Traffic Neighbourhood' schemes (LTNs) has been so badly handled that what could have been a contribution to better living in the borough has turned into a nightmare, through poor planning and abysmal consultation. Instead of achieving its stated aims of reducing pollution and safer roads, it has done exactly the opposite, increasing pollution around the two main transport hubs of Southgate Circus and Palmers Green Triangle/Station, where thousands of school children and adults walk through every day. Ambulance and Fire emergency services have been unable to reach their destinations in the quickest time possible many times, with end of road bollards immovable. To make matters worse, the prime instigator of the scheme, Deputy Leader Ian Barnes, is so unable to cope with the basic realities of his mistakes, that he is determined to ignore the bulk of residents' objections and ride rough shod over their reasoned criticisms of the schemes. Over 7,000 residents have signed a petition to end them, but Councillor Barnes, supported by the leader Nesil Caliskan, is determined to forgo democracy for the sake of a misplaced belief that these schemes are benefitting residents and combatting climate change. Patently wrong on both counts. In addition, at a time of crisis from the pandemic, they have successfully split communities and divided neighbours, when now more than ever, support for each other has been vital. I've been a Labour supporter all my life, but it's unlikely this 'rotten borough' (others description) will remain so at the next elections. The Labour Party will only have itself to blame.

Thieving traffic wardens literally sniping people with those cars loaded with cameras looking like Ed 209 from Robocop..... dirty scruffy rats jumping in and out plastering parking tickets ignoring the humans of society screaming abuse at them..... Who are these strange people? Why they do this job I'll never know. You know who you are ...creepy! creepiest! creepers! , awful ... I Found one parked on a yellow line for 20 minutes giving tickets. I asked him why he was parked there and he replied I'm only here for 10 minutes....

Tried to pay for my green bin collection renewal, web site will not let me go onto the payment details, tried telephoning, hopeless , listen to a whole load of options and then get cut off. Wonder if anyone in the council actually tries to use this system?

Terrible when it comes to waste collection or missed collection reporting. Website doesn't work most of the time and getting through via phone is a joke. Being slowly run into the ground, as a former employee i have insight to say they pay their staff very poorly compared to other councils and in turn attract less competent staff.

It is unbelievable how dangerous they've made the roads with these new cycle lanes as big as car lanes. With the sharp curbs that puncture your tyre! Just look at the junction on Bury Street with Hertford Road in N9. You come out of Bury Street to turn left on Hertford Rd to immediately go through almost like a width restriction with sharp edges. I know of about 3/4 people that have damaged their cars on this road alone. There are so many junctions like that! Sometime you have to go into oncoming traffic to go passed something because the road is too narrow. Then there's the Nightgale Rd, leading on to Galliard Rd junction, where they added a high, sharp kerb then reduced it but not by enough so cars have to squeeze through, always road rage taking place there. Someone is going to get seriously hurt there. It's like they're actively trying to kill the drivers off now!
