My wife and I took our 9 year old grandson to the Royal Artillery Museum and this was the best museum we've ever taken a child to. The activities put on for the them were energetic and very entertaining for both parents and children. The staff had all the children in the palm of their hands and the staff loved what they were doing as much as the children. Great day out, great value. A big thank you to all the staff. It's a great shame that there's talk of closure/moving in 2017. A very satisfied visitor. Ray Carlson

I visited the Museum today and found it fascinating and spent an hour or so with the duty volunteer guide. It is a national shame that it is to closed and moved to Lark Hill and with it the possibility of an endangered existence. Therefore I would highly recommend you visit the museum before it closes. Major Charles Leaper D and D Regt. (A Regiment that now no longer exists)

BigLee's Miniature Adventures

A very interesting museum with some surprising and unique exhibits. Plenty of interactive stuff to keep the kids interested and lots of large exhibits (vehicles & AVRE's etc) to keep Dad happy. The only negative - and its a big one for me - is that the museum operates a no photography policy inside the building. This isn't mentioned on the website which is a bit naughty.

Not for small kids. I asked the guy at the front desk if there was a childrens area. He assured me there was. I paid and went in, and the 'area' was a bench with a couple of cushions. Most museums do better than this. And also, they may as well tell you at the front desk, if you ask, that the museum has nothing for small kids, rather than giving you a bum steer. I think for older artillary enthusiasts it is good, but avoid if with small kids.
