I have just completed the 9 week NVQ 2 course at the hair for men academy and I can honestly say its been the best decision I've made. Having never picked up a pair of scissors or clippers before I'm now leaving with the confidence and knowledge to tackle a variety of hair styles and hair types. All the educators have a wealth of knowledge and it's been great taking a little piece of what they know and applying it to my own style. If you're considering a change of career or even to brush up on the skills you already have I'd highly recommend giving Paul and the guys a call. You won't be disappointed. I'll be returning in the new year to tackle NVQ 3 and I can't wait.

Missed the 205 bus and was chasing it down the street when I came across this place. Figured I had some time to burn because the bus was quickly fading into the distance. Came down and got a bald fade from Josh, he did a great job and both him and his instructor were attentive to my haircut and my large head. Good line work and blend. Looks like you can’t go wrong with any of these barbers, from the haircuts I was watching walk by. I’m now ready for the Amsterdam night market and it’s all due to the missed bus and Josh hooking it up.
I am a professional Make-Up Artist working in Film & TV, and I attended the Hair for Men Academy for their Fast Track Barber course. The course is perfect if like me, you need a really comprehensive introduction (or refresher) into barbering, but only have limited time to dedicate to it. The course tutors, Paul, Tom and Henry are highly skilled, and really patient and generous with their time and knowledge. Its a highly informative course, with really professional tutors, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would love to attend a longer and more in depth course for barbering in the future, and I'd only attend the Hair For Men Academy to do so, after my experience last week. I can't recommend the course or the tutors highly enough.
A great course. A great academy. I wanted to expand my knowledge on angles, sectioning and connecting cuts and all of my questions were answered. All the tutors at Hair for Men Academy are great, they’re so knowledgeable and really care about your learning. After a few days of practicing on a dolly head you’re quickly getting to experience working on real clients. All of the tutors are very supportive and encouraging and walk you through the cuts until you’re able to take the lead yourself. It’s like a little family there and everyone training and the tutors all super encouraging and complimentary making it the perfect environment to learn or develop skills in. The course felt really personal to my own specific learning and seemed to be tailored to each individual person training and the tutors quickly identified where they could develop my skills that would be most useful to me. I am only sorry I wasn’t there for longer. I would recommend to all levels. Book now you won’t be disappointed!
Entering this week I was very nervous, did not know what to expect, I can honestly say In no time at all, I felt at home my nerves disappeared. The staff here have become like my family, Their dedication to teaching and learning is beyond perfection. I’m excited for my future in barbering and coming back to do my masters in barbering nvq 3. Great training great barbering xxx
