Good place to walk, feels quite secluded in parts. Cafe in the centre along with free toilets. Quite muddy in points so wear appropriate footwear

In Highgate Wood you can follow the beaten paths and meet lots of other walkers with their big dogs ; or cut through the wilder undergrowth and enjoy the elms oaks and birches up close. And there may be a parking spot for you in a nearby street Alas we could find no cafe inside the woods, only toilets. Photo taken in midwinter, as you can see!

Love this place. A bit of wild forest space in the middle of London. A great place to wind down.

Stunning on a sunny Sunday. Great if you want walk around the woods; plenty of trails and great shaded woodland walk. This is accompanied by a wonderful open field, great for sports, running around or lounging. Thankfully, there are also refreshment spots and lavatories. Will definitely be returning.

Ace place if you like to: walk, walk the dog, walk the kids, walk in circles (a loop probably takes less than 25mins), start walking the Parkland Walk (mainly off road walk from Alley Pally/Highgate Woods to Finsbury Park), walk in the winter mud, walk in the summer heat, walk to the playground, walk to watch the local summer cricket, walk to the cricket nets, walk and have a coffee or bite at the cafe (which is great but sometimes prepare to queue when busy), play hide and seek, sit and think, sit and talk, sit and listen. Only opens daylight hours, great for energetic dogs and kids because it has complete perimeter fencing. Nowhere to park so you'd need to park locally and walk to it, or just not drive at all. Ancient woods, love this place, keep it ace.
