I think the swimming pool, sauna and steam and brilliant and have never found it overcrowded. The only thing I'd like to see improved is to have more than one lounger in the rest area and a water fountain. I find the showers and changing facilities great. Bringing your own padlock for the lockers is genius after experiencing so many failed locker systems in various leisure centres. There are always cleaning staff around keeping everything spotless. I have never been a member of a gym before as I like to do other activities that are never included but I think LA Fitness has won me over and it is surprisingly affordable.

Whilst the pool is the only warm LA Fitness pool and therefore perfect for kids, the club keeps changing the family swim time - at the moment it's 12.30 - 2.30 on a sunday which coincides with kids lunchtime so no good to families. They don't really seem to care about their members with kids. As this was the only reason I joined, I find it a bit of a waste of money.
This was the worst experience I have ever had in a gym. I went over there to look at the facilities and try them out today. First I was told by the staff that my membership option might not be available anymore and after he consulted the manager I could only do it right then right now. The way I was approached bordered on blackmail really. Then I was able to look around the gym which is small but functional and well equipped. When I asked about classes availability I was told that I can book up to 4 days in advance. However if you looked on the online booking system every single class (except Zumba) was booked solid until Monday (which you can't book because it is more than 4 days). Basically it looks like you have to wait until one minute passed midnight and quickly book to get a space. When I mentioned that I was told that j can always come and check when the class starts (I was going for a corporate membership so how can this work with your office duties I don't know ?!?). The best bit though was the final part when I dared to ask if I can try the pool today (the only reason I wanted to join). I was told no, and the free three day pass which is promised online also doesn't apply apparently. When I said that you can always try a gym out before you join, I was told that if I like I can pay 15 for using the pool once, or leave. I chose to leave. This gym would really be ok if the staff would not be so awfully rude, unfriendly and would listen to what you are asking at least once. DEFINITELY AVOID!
This gym is A Plus quality. If your serious about a gym membership for 50 a month everything you could need or want great gym, classes, pool area, Sauna, steam. L.A. Fitness has gone to another level. I brought a member ship at the start of the year up New Barnet. Moved to Swiss cottage and made the transition. Fresh towel supplied at reception on my every vist. Highly recommended !!! Just do it !!!
I've been going there for about a year now, and it's an okay gym for the price. Nice big swimming pool, steam room is decent, though could be warmer at times (bring a bottle of cold water for the thermostat), the showers and locker room are fair (better in other Central London branches), there's a reasonable selection and variation of machines, the freeweights section is okay, just constantly busy, there are a good amount of mats since rearranging the walkway, the staff are usually polite, and glad to say, all the PT aren't always hustling you and hogging all the machines away! Areas where they can improve are the opening times on the weekend to be more like Bayswater, and a little more variation on the resistance machines.
Small fitness with great facilities. It is not overcrowded and the staff is very responsive.
Very poor experience. Rude stuff! The gym itself is ok, tiny, but still fine..But staff is simply out of control.
