Really lovely for a date and good service but too expensive

If you're at Paddington or Little Venice this charming restaurant is an ideal lunch destination that will involve a bracing walk along the Grand Union canal. It's an exceptional restaurant that adds a dash of style and class to an area that seems a bit down-at-heel (or \up and coming\). The people working here are so much more friendly than most people working in most restaurants, and the food is great too. They have interesting things going on in the evenings but I missed them as I came for lunch. They have a good eye for detail, for example the water glasses are nicely shaped and wafer thin. Portions are small but the taste of muy meal was incredible. I had battered hake which was deep fried and delicious, with a sauce with fresh split peas. Perfect. The only lapse was when the uber-friendly waiter said, when I was ordering, that the fish dish is rather like fish and chips. The idea of a polystrene box full of greasy chips was so inaccurate and he wsa way of the mark.
