Mayhew is located in London, United Kingdom on Trenmar Gardens, Kensal Green,. Mayhew is rated 4.4 out of 5 in the category animal rescue service in United Kingdom. Mayhew is an animal welfare charity based in North West London. More than just a rescue and rehoming centre, we provide a range of animal welfare initiatives to help dogs, cats and communities in the UK and internationally. Our Animal Welfare Officers work in the community to educate on animal welfare and prevent welfare issues arising in the first place. Their work extends to help pets and their owners in society who are vulnerable, elderly, sick or facing a personal crisis. We do everything we can to give practical help to keep pets at home with their owners. Our Officers also rescue many neglected, unwanted and stray dogs and cats and also work with London councils to bring in stray dogs. Some lucky cats and dogs are reunited with their owners. For 17 years, our Animal Welfare Officers have been working with the homeless and their dogs and cats. We provide advice, free neutering, leads and collars, warm coats, food, microchipping and veterinary care when it’s needed at our Vet Clinic. We have a Shelter and Rescue Centre in North West London, where we rehome hundreds of dogs and cats to loving homes every year. Every dog and cat that comes into us receives the very best care and veterinary treatment during their stay with us. Our on-site Community Vet Clinic of professional vets and vet nurses provide low-cost and affordable neutering and preventative vet care including microchipping, vaccinations, and flea and worm treatments. We also neuter and health-check feral cats. We run a visiting animal therapy programme, TheraPaws, where volunteers regularly take their dogs to care homes, hospitals and hospices across London to spend time, engage with and bring well-being to people. With Mayhew International, we work overseas to help alleviate the suffering of street cats and dogs and educate on animal welfare. We fund rabies prevention and Trap Vaccination Neuter and Release programmes and provide International Vet Training.
