We have two children attending the school, with one more due to enter in September. We are very happy with the warm, welcoming and safe environment that Parkgate creates for each child. The small size of the school is perfect for our children, who get lots of one-to-one attention and support, if they need it. Because it's not a huge school, children know one another very well and have the opportunity to make friends in other year groups as well as their own. The size of the school also means that it feels like a family. We have seen our children grow and thrive in this environment. The teaching staff are lovely and we have been very happy with each teacher our children have had so far. The quality of the teaching they've received is excellent. Also worth noting that Parkgate has done an amazing job delivering online learning to the children during the lockdown. Lessons have been delivered through a well thought-out online platform and children have continued to receive the full range of lessons they would have had had they physically been at school.

As an Anonymous former student - this school though exceeding the academic standards of most primary schools crushes what identity you pertain. The social community in this school is one of non conformists who behave on gender stereotypical roles and cause pupils to abandon what personal gender identity they might hold onto causing distress and depression. After 2 years in Parkgate I was diagnosed with clinical depression due to the atmosphere, bullying and lack of understanding that both pupils and teachers had. I was forced to change who i was and as a result became depressed, withdrawn and emotionally unstable all of which melted away when moving to my new school. The way in which teachers would side with students who were seen as more normal but used other class members as scapegoats from the ages of 8 instilled fear of teachers and classmates into some and myself is an unhealthy atmosphere for students to be put in. Though this school helped me top exceed academically, it caused me depression, it caused withdrawal from true gender identity, it instilled a fear of teachers and students and caused mental scarring that I will never lose. Thank you for the education and thank you for how you made me conform into someone I wasn't.

A wonderful school with a supportive, family-friendly ethos. The school curriculum integrates a range of enrichment activities including horse riding and karate. The annual concerts are something special to look forward, as are the Christmas plays. The teaching staff are highly motivated and well-supported. Definitely well worth considering if you are looking for a school in the Clapham area.
